Abstract:

Background and Aim: consumption of the epidermis (COE) is defined as thinning of the epidermis with attenuation of the basal and suprabasal layers and loss of rete ridges in areas of direct contact with malignant melanocytes. The aim of this study was to investigate the importance of COE as an additional diagnostic criterion for malignant melanoma and to evaluate its relationship to clinicopathological findings.Methodes: The age, gender, localization of the lesion and the histopathological parameters such as tumor type, Breslow thickness, ulceration, and Clark’s level were recoeded in 90 malignant melanoma cases. Results: In contrast to other studies, we found that COE was more common in tumors with an acral localization and in the acral lentiginous melanoma. Conclusion: Although COE can be used as a pathological criterion in the diagnosis of malignant melanoma, but no correlation no of COE with ulceration and other prognostic factors were found.

Abstract:

This paper seeks to describe Media consumption mechanism in adolescents-as the most influential age group. In relation to the expected norm of exploratory research, we don’ t have a theoretical basis and prior assumptions. The methodology in this paper is the Grounded Theory, and the author claims that, through inductive logic based on deep interviews and observations, presents a theoretical system of adolescent Media consumption mechanism. In the implementation of Grounded Theory, after conducting 22 individual in depth interviews and observations on the field, 1050 open coding were obtained in the first stage. Subsequently, axial coding have done with 362 categories for identifying concepts, and 15 concepts by Selective Coding were identified as core concepts in the use of description of adolescent Media mechanism. Then selective coding applied to construction of theoretical model that were formed by systemic consequences of adolescent Media consumption were identified in 5 levels; • Arrhythmia of the Media in adolescents • Active exposure to the Media consumption • Adult adaptation • Multi-level seeking Distinction • Family conflicts as a result of adolescent Media consumption Thus, the outcome of this article is a theoretical portrait of Media usage mechanisms by adolescents.

Abstract:

The research evaluates new Media impacts on Iranian mainstream Media. It seems that new Media in Iran these days deeply effect on mainstream Media and even in some cases makes them to lose their functions. This research tries to evaluate new Media impacts on Iranian mainstream Media’ s internal mechanisms and also relations between them with politic and economic activists. New Media impacts on mainstream Media and their relations with activists were evaluated by qualitative grounded theory methodology. Eventually researcher concluded that new Media by themselves did not reduce the mainstream Media consumption but the tough controls and lack of professionalism in mainstream Media were the critical cause of consumption, trustfulness and influence decline so new Media rise only has amplified these consequences. In fact, politic and economic activists and the people have immigrated to new Media because of weak mainstream Media but they could not entirely alternate with mainstream Media.

Abstract:

Nowadays, consumption as a multidimensional phenomenon has become one of the significant research topics of sociology of culture and cultural studies. It is important to consider and investigate this phenomenon not only at an academic level but as an issue which has emerged and is wide spreading in Iranian society. To that end, this study is aimed at investigating the relationship between consumption and mass Media. Therefore, by the following a persuasive communication model, the study will explore the role of communication channels such as radio, television, satellite, etc, as well as the gender of the audience (men and women) with respect to consumption. The research method conducts a survey and collects required data through questionnaires. The experimental group consists of 400 young people aged between 18 and 29 living in Shiraz. The sampling was conducted in a cluster form in multiple stages. The results of the research revealed that in terms of gender, there is a relationship between consumption and the level of affinity to the mass Media showing in the meantime that men are greater consumers than women because they more in contact with mass Media as compared to women.

Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to determine the effects of mass Media on public self-portrayal. Based on the results of the review comments, and review of empirical sources, a conceptual framework and main hypothesis have been proposed. The method of data collection was through use of questionnaires. The statistical population was women in the range 17 to 40 years of age in Baneh City, of which 480 were selected by multistage random sampling. Data was analyzed using SPSS software. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the exposure to mass Media and self-portrayal. Women who were exposed to the local Media were affected less while women who were exposed to foreign Media showed a greater effect on self-portrayal. This data shows a change in cognitive, action and behavior patterns and indicates new trends. The relationship between self-portrayal and age showed a lesser influence when compared to the effects of socio-economic status. The variables in the multivariate analysis: domestic and foreign Media exposure, socio-economic status and age, showed the greatest to least relationship with the dependent variable, respectively, and accounted for 40 percent of the overall effect.

Abstract:

Introduction: Generational object is a phenomenon related to the epistemic system of generations which differs from one generation to another due to rapid changes and fresh contacts of each generation to emerging phenomena. The introduction and expansion of mass and social Media in the recent history of the country and how various social groups have dealt with it, along with the restrictions imposed on these technologies by the state, have been such that the emergence of the Media has become a form of historical fact and remained in the memory of those generations. So, these facts can be considered as one of the most important events that, as Mannheim puts it as the "fresh contact" with new objects for generations in which periods were continually entering the cultural stream of society, and it can be claimed that each of these Media are generational objects. Although Mannheim has spoken of socio-historical events as a generational object, he refuses to empirically identify them. Christopher Bollas frequently refers to instances of generational objects and considers generations to be a set of human beings that share generational objects. In his view, these objects are explainers of the individual's generation, and remembering them generates a sense of his generation in his mind. Bollas begins his essay by mentioning some of the famous authors' biographies and mentions Kim Newman's generational object as "television and later horror videos and movies". Therefore, he is one of the first who introduces the Media as a generational object. In the sociology of Media, recently, the concept of generation has been widely discussed, with some scholars discussing the approach of the Media generation. For these researchers, generational identity formation is linked to Media technologies at two levels: First, Media experience in the years of identity formation through Media consumption culture; second, representations made through Media produced works help to define a particular generation's identity and sense of belonging to a particular generation. The purpose of the present study is to describe and explain the intergenerational differences in Media use and to investigate whether Media can be considered as an object for different generations. To this end, by the use of Mannheim and Bollas's theories, as well as the theory of use and gratification, and the theory of displacement and complementarity effects of Media, it is explained whether there is a difference between generations in terms of Media consumption...
